Application sequence for Glossy/Matt/Satin Finish
  1. Apply one coat of air drying zinc chrome xuper (single pack) primer on degreased metals.
  2. Allow it to dry for a minimum of 12-16 hours and then scuff with 320-emery paper.
  3. Apply two coats of Durothane finish (glossy/matt/satin) by spraying or by brushing after mixing it with recommended thinner.
  4. Second coat to be applied after 8-12 hours of air drying and after scuffing the first coat with 600 emery.
In case, the surface of the substrate is not smooth, the following sequence is to be adopted.
  1. Apply one coat of air drying zinc chrome xuper (single pack) primer by mixing it with suitable thinner.
  2. Allow it to dry for a minimum of 12-16 hours and then scuff it with 320 emery.
  3. Apply epoxy putty by putty blade. Allow it to dry over night and sand the surface to remove excess putty and smoothen the surface.
  4. Apply second coat of air drying zinc chrome xuper primer. Allow it to dry for 12-16 hours and then scuff it with 400 emery.
  5. Apply two coats of Durothane finish (glossy/matt/satin) by spraying or by brushing, after mixing it with recommended thinner.
  6. Second coat to be applied after 8-12 hours of air drying and after scuffing the first coat with 600 emery.
Note:
  • In addition to the above primer, epoxy red oxide primer/air drying zinc chromate primer yellow can also be used as an under coat for Durothane.
  • Durothane finishes can also be applied over Enamel paints after scuffing it with 600 emery paper.
